Why cannot I transfer my assets directly between different public blockchains?

As public blockchains develop, exchanges have launched their public blockchains, like BSC from Binance, HECO from Huobi and OKExChain from OKEx.

Due to increasing demands for inter-chain trade, the same assets may appear on different public blockchains. For example, USDT can circulate on several public blockchains like ETH, TRX, BSC and HECO. But these chains are slightly different and don’t offer direct inter-chain function, though their address formats are the same, which results in frequent failed transactions.

Examples:

1) Direct transfer service is not available between different public blockchains. For example, USDT in Ethereum cannot be transferred to HECO directly.

2) Carefully choose your payment channel/public blockchain when withdrawing from an exchange. For example, if you want to withdraw your currency from Binance to BSC, you must choose BEP20 or BSC network. If you want to withdraw currency from Huobi to HECO, you must pick HECO network, or your transfer won’t succeed.

If you want to make an inter-chain transfer, check out the tutorial in BitKeep Swap.BitKeep Swap has aggregated many protocols and bridges for you to make cross-chain token swap transactions and get instant results.

I chose the wrong channel or blockchain when making a transfer. What can I do?
  1. If you transfer your USDT on ETH to your BSC wallet, your BSC wallet won’t receive any USDT. What you need to do now is to create an ETH wallet with the same private key used for your BSC wallet, then you will see the transferred USDT. (If you cannot see USDT, add USDT (ETH) manually.)
  2. If you want to withdraw USDT to HECO, but you forget to choose a network or pick the wrong one (ETH, for example). Then what you need to do is to import your private key for your HECO wallet to Ethereum, then you will see the transferred USDT. (If you cannot see USDT, add USDT (HECO) manually.)
